Lachlan grew up on a sheep and cattle property near Dirranbandi and completed his high school education at Anglican Church Grammar School, Brisbane. His connection with horses began early, from mustering sheep and cattle on horseback through to participation in the local pony club and shows and finally progressing to polocrosse which he continues to play when he can.
Lachlan wanted to pursue a career in equine veterinary practice from a young age and studied veterinary medicine and surgery at James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland, graduating in 2011. In 2012 he began working at Glen Innes Veterinary Hospital, a mixed practice with a large equine caseload. In order to further expand his knowledge he has attended extended equine reproduction, podiatry and dental courses. Lachlan commenced working at Equine Veterinary Services in August 2014 and, alongside the reproduction, dentistry and general equine practice, has enjoyed the opportunity to develop one of his areas of special interest – performance horses.
When not working he enjoys being active and outdoors, playing rugby, polocrosse and fishing.
